Who Should Go #1 ?

With March Madness coming to a quick ending, the talking heads are already discussing who the top picks should be in the 2018 NBA Draft.  From the couch, it seems to me that there are 3 bigs and 1 guard that are going to be considered in the lottery slots.  The three bigs are Mo Bamba from Texas, Marvin Bagely outa Duke and Deandre Ayton from Arizona.  All three are highly skilled either on defense, offense or both.  The lone guard making noise for the lottery is Mr. Turnover himself, Trae Young.

Mo Bamba

Besides yelling his name 20 times a game in my living room because his name is awesome to say, Mo Bamba is a highly skilled young big man playing at Texas right now.  With a monster 7’9 wingspan Bamba stands at a clean 7 footer.

8’0 wingspan – 19 year old

4 blocks a game that is currently 2nd in the country.  He has to put on weight to make in the The League, but right now as a 19 year old he should be a no-doubter lottery pick.  Mo Bamba is currently averaging 14 pts and 10 boards and one of the few college kids getting that double-double every night.  Defensively I think Bamba is the most skilled big in the country right now.  Lets see how he handles the spotlight come Tourney Time.  The main difference between Bamba and the

Kid reminds me of a smoother or more well rounded Nerlens Noel.  Nerlens was a pure dunker and defender with a limited offensive game when he was at Kentucky.  Bamba has good moves around the hoop and his crazy length makes it look like he doesnt jump and finger rolls layups in .

Marvin Bagley

Bagely was a highly touted High School prospect coming into Duke this season and most people that follow Bball knew about him coming into this season.  He was a top rated recruit and when he made his decision to come play for coach K, people heard about it.  He’s a skilled lefty that has a ton of offensive talent.  For a guy his size he is a little soft defensively but his offensive game makes you not care about that.  He can fill it up.  Needs to work on his mid range jumper and I don’t even want him to think about shooting 3s.  But in today’s NBA bigs shooting 3s seems to be almost necessary for guys coming into the league.

Duke had a disappointing loss to Kansas keeping them out of the Final Four.  Disappointing especially in a year that the ENTIRE STARTING FIVE will most likely be taken in the first round of the NBA draft coming up.

Dropping 21 and 11

only 62% from the line

Deandre Ayton

Listed at 7’1 with a 7’0 wingspan, shows how impressive Bamba’s length is, puts up nearly 20 points (19.4) and 10 boards every night.  The Pac 12 is not a strong league this year and Zona rarely gets a nationally televised game that the east coast can stay awake for.  But Ayton is definitely worth staying up for.  Compared to Bamba and Bagely I’d say he can score better then Bamba because he can shoot, but is not quite the defender Bamba is.  Bagely is the pure scorer of the group of 3 bigs, but Ayton is right behind him.  When looking for the combo of offense and defense in the same guy, Ayton fits the mold best.  Bagely isn’t as strong a defender but can score easier.  Ayton can’t defend like Mo Bamba but can score and shoot better then him.

Arizona and the Pac12 are always such losers come tournament time and yet again this year, Arizona didn’t even show up to get out of the first round.  How bum ass Sean Miller is not fired yet blows my mind…thats for another article.

Ayton’s undeniable size and smooth footwork makes him as safe a big man pick can be early in the Draft, and I think he goes #1.

Trae Young

Trae started almost too hot for his own good, because he was bound to come back to life after the start he got to.  Trae has multiple games 40+ point games under his belt, and had them rather earlier on in his first season.  The comparisons to Steph Curry are a stretch but the kid takes the same style shots.  This also is leading to terrible shots and possessions for the team.  The one thing I don’t like about his game is the turnovers.  Trae leads the country in points and assists per game, but he’s also up there in turnovers.  He gives the ball up a ton and plays reckless at times especially when hes trying to comeback in the game.  If Oklahoma is down late his awful shot selection, mainly heaving as soon as he’s over halfcourt, are basically turnovers.  As an NBA team I would look to Sexton out of Bama for a PG over tiny Turnover Trae.

Putting up 29 and 9

Last and very least

Luka Doncic – Every year has their own version of Luka Doncic.  And this year’s Luka Doncic….is Luka Doncic.  I guess this kid is a 6’8 guard who’s playing in Madrid Spain.  He is 19 years old and I’m sure already being compared to Dirk Nowitzki instead of the million flops from Europe that were drafted in the lottery.  You know why every euro gets compared to Dirk?

Because nobody has been any good since Dirk!!

I heard that same crap about Darko, Rickey Rubio (who actually is playing well now but still not worth that pick, right Minnesota?) loser Frank Ntilikina, Dragan Bender, Mario Hezonja, all-time bust and one of my favorite Euro playing clowns Emmanuel Mudiayyy, Dante Exum, Bismack Biyombo….etcccccc  – the list of loser Euro players taken in the top10 goes on forever. My predication is that history repeats itself and Luka is paid out the ass for beating up on old Euro dads, in a worse-then-top-AAU league and never shows up to the league.

All this Euro league talk makes me think of whats gona happen when Blow-Bag Lavar Ball’s (BBB) kids are ready to get drafted?

Talk about another overseas scam the NBA will buy.

Those are crying-Jordan’s instead of his butter yellow teeth
