Was that game boring or what? I did enjoy Belichek completely shutting down this new McVey slurp-fest that has been going on. But come on, that game should have ended 10-3 with, 1 touchdown. Two ugly interceptions, and about 5 sacks. Pretty lifeless game, but looking back on the recent Super Bowls? I guess we were due for a clunker. The only bright spot in the game, was the fact it was a close game the whole time. Nobody got blown out. But with 6 points scored through 3 Qtrs, the game just didn’t have much juice if your team wasn’t in it.
The Rams didn’t run a single play in the redzone. Patriots ran 1. Rams punter punted, 9 times. No TDs for either QB. It really seemed like it was Edleman vs the Rams. And Edleman won.
Will anyone take a dump on Todd Gurley for againn completely disappearing? Come on. This guy is the NFL’s James Harden. His disappearance was mind-blowing. Didn’t the Rams sit you for that last month of the season to preserve you for the playoffs? You might as well have not even dressed. The entire playoffs…Loser
One quick thing to hate on, and maybe I’m alone on this, but can we stop with the dumbass kids on the trophy podium? They’r maybe five years old and will remember zero of this. Belichek getting the Lombardi while holding some child? Who the hells this kid? She aint your daughter Bill, your 65 years old! And she’s 5… And Brady…we get it, but can we not jam your family in the trophy presentation? Press conference, fine, if you must. But getting the Lombardi? #AdultsOnly please
The game was a let down, but what a year. These Brady/Belichek years seem to fly by but maybe that’s because its the same story over and over again. Patriots make the playoffs as a rare #2 seed (normally good for #1). Then the Patriots win 2 games and guess what? They’r back in the Super Bowl for the NINTH time. Crazy
Can we just touch on Boston sports for a second? Umm who just won the World Series? Are the Celtics any good? Will Tom Brady ever stop winning Super Bowls? Growing up in NY during the Yankees dominance of the 96-01 years, that was a time it seemed NY was on a tear. They either won or lost almost every year in the World Series. After a while you just expected to flick on the World Series and obviously the Yankees were playing somebody…. But now that Brady/Belichek have created the greatest, most impressive modern-day professional dynasty in sports, anytime the RedSox or Celtics get championships, it gets ridiculous for that town. When has one city had the best football dynasty ever, while having multiple championships in baseball? Andd sneak in an NBA ring too? Pretty crazy when you think about all of those rings, from one place, during one span of 10-20 years.
Last thing, I get the Patriots use it as motivation, but can we stop with the underdog stuff? You’ve won 6 Super Bowls guys. Maybe in the first 2 of them you were underdogs? You were favored in the last 3 Super Bowls you were in. This has gota be the greatest dynasty in sports, and yet your underdogs every year? Doesn’t add up. But you can’t hate on greatness.
We’re on to 2019…
