What ever happened to stubborn old guys that say everyone and everything back in the day was much better then todays. The good ole days were better right? How is it that everyone being paid to speak on television now declares everyone the ‘greatest’….(fill in the blank) they’ve ever seen?
Clark Kellogg was recently spewing on TV about how good DeAndre Ayton is. Claiming that he is the best big man he has seen in his 30 years of covering college hoops. Ever heard of Shaq Clark? How about Tim Duncan? Or Maybe Hakeem? Even Anthony Davis for goodness sake. I’m sick of hearing all these older TV talking heads claiming everyone is the greatest ever at anything. Please just stop. You’ve already burned your ‘greatest’ card like four times in the past 5 years so when can we believe you? Seems like every year theres declared a ‘greatest’ of something in sports.
So Clark was stupid, but Robert Parrish may have been even dumber. Recently the Chief declared Paul Pierce as the “Greatest Offensive Celtic Ever ” on Paul Pierce day. I get Paul Pierce is an all time Celtic, 2nd in franchise points, buttt ever heard of Larry Bird Cheif? I mean come on! you played with the guy! 
Larry Legend played far less games for Boston and still ranks 3rd behind Pierce. But as far as offensive players? Does anyone honestly think that they’re even close? Larry frickin Bird people. Dude was one of the greatest shooters of all time. I think Larry eats up Pierce if they got a chance to play each other.
