8. Roger Staubach
A former 10th-round pick, Roger Staubach did not enter the NFL until he was 27 because of his career in the Navy.
Roger led Dallas to nine straight winning seasons and two Super Bowl championships. He became the first player to win the Heisman Trophy and a Super Bowl MVP.
The Hall of Fame thrower made it to the Pro Bowl squad six times and was named to the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team.
He’s also the man to coin the phrase “Hail Mary” after chucking a 50-yard game-winning pass.
7. Steve Young
The BYU alum’s career did not take off until he arrived in SanFran, where he sat behind Joe Montana and learned a few things.
Young went on to make the Pro Bowl in all seven years he was a starter.
Taking home two MVP awards and winning three Super Bowls.
Steve’s favorite target was the greatest WR of all time, Jerry Rice. They connected for 85 touchdowns and over 10,000 yards during the time they played together.
Known for his Super Bowl XXIX performance which was one of the best ever: He completed 24 of 36 passes for 325 yards and six touchdowns before being named MVP of the game.
He was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
